Xiaomi Mi 4c leaks on AnTuTu and TENAA; device powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset

While Xiaomi reportedly is waiting for the Snapdragon 820 SoC to arrive to start churning out the Xiaomi Mi 5, the company might be looking to offer another variant of its Xiaomi Mi 4 flagship phone. A handset with the Xiaomi Mi 4c name went through the AnTuTu benchmark test, and was also certified by TENAA. Both revealed that the device will feature a 5-inch, 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. That works out to a pixel density of 441ppi.

 

The Xiaomi Mi 4c will be the first handset produced by Xiaomi to be powered by the Snapdragon 808 chipset. The SoC will include a hexa-core 1.4GHz CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside, along with 16GB of internal, non-expandable storage. A 13MP camera graces the back of the unit, while a 5MP camera is on the front of the phone handling selfies and video chats. Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed, with the new MIUI 7 UI running on top.

 

The Xiaomi Mi 4c offers support for 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro USB connectivity. We would expect to see such a device priced at a bargain rate to compete with other "value" priced models.

 

If you're interested in how the specs of this handset differ from the Xiaomi Mi 4, the latter is powered by the Snapdragon 801, which comes with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU. The Mi 4 also offers 3GB of RAM, 64GB of native storage, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

Xiaomi is getting ready to announce yet another handset for this year, and it is going to be called Mi4c. However, before you get excited to witness the unveiling of the smartphone, you should know that the company is going to release limited versions of this product. The reason for this is very simple; it is because Xiaomi obviously does not want the sales performance of its Redmi Note 2 to take a nose dive, and so far, the latter is killing it in the market thanks to its very attractive price and performance ratio.

Both devices might have the same resolutions, but most consumers would be eager to get their hands on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 because it is not only affordable, but has a screen size of 5.5 inches, compared to the expected 5.2 inch screen of Xiaomi Mi4c. Xiaomi Mi4c: Snapdragon 808 chipset which will be running two Cortex-A57 cores running at 1.82GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.44GHz.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Helio X10 chipset which will be running eight Cortex-A53 cores at 2.0GHz (the higher performing model runs at a frequency of 2.2GHz but is also slightly more expensive).

 

According to the AnTuTu benchmarking scores, given below are the following scores that each device can obtain:

 

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: 46,457 points (This is for the 2.0GHz model; the 2.2GHz model will definitely score much higher than this).

Estimated score of Xiaomi Mi4c: Above 47,000 points for the 3GB model and less than 47,000 for the 2GB model.

 

If it comes to pure performance terms, then we see Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 as being the much better smartphone to purchase for you guys since it is not only affordable, but Helio X10 present inside it is near-equal to Snapdragon 808 in the benchmarking tests.

Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Battery capacities

 

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 3,060mAh battery, which will provide just a little less than 12 hours of talk time. There is very little difference between the battery capacity of Xiaomi Mi4c because according to the leaked specifications, the device is going to sport a 3,080mAh battery. However, since Mi4c is running two Cortex-A57 cores, which consume much more power as compared to Cortex-A53 cores, it is highly possible that the upcoming smartphone will not be able to provide sufficient battery life to consumers as compared to Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.

 

Regardless, we are going to have to wait and see how well the upcoming device does in the battery tests before we can deliver our final conclusion.

Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Charging port type

 

Unlike Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi4c will feature a Type-C USB port, which can deliver higher transfer rates when you want to shift data from one machine to the other. In contrast, Redmi Note 2 will not be able to reach the transfer speeds of its upcoming rival because it has a microUSB port. Consumers who are extremely picky about the charging port of the smartphone will have to wait for some time as it will take a while for Xiaomi Mi4c to enter the market.

Perhaps the most important thing to a consumer is a smartphone’s price tag. Right now, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 delivers an unparalleled price/performance ratio because it only costs $125 (for the 2.0GHz) model, while Xiaomi Mi4c is expected to carry a price that will range between $204 for the 2GB RAM model, and $236 for the 3GB RAM model. If you were to ask which device we would settle for to be completely satisfied, our answer would easily be Redmi Note 2. However, not all consumers will share our decision.

Final verdict

 

In our opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 happens to be the far better choice compared to the upcoming Mi4c because it not only has an unbeatable price of $125, but it is equal to the performance of the upcoming device thanks to its Helio X10 chipset. Sure, it might not have 3GB of RAM, but in majority of cases, 2GB RAM is more than enough to get your fair share of multitasking, and playing graphically intensive gaming applications.

 

With the new operating system update running on both smartphones (Android Lollipop 5.0), we expect even better memory management to be displayed by both handsets, and with Redmi Note 2, you will easily be able to save a ton of money in the purchasing process too.

Ζαχάρωνα το RedMi Note 2 Prime αλλά διαβάζω πως ο Helio X10 καίει τα κέρατά του.. Μάλλον θα δώσω το κάτι παραπάνω για να πάρω αυτό, ιδιαίτερα εάν βγει έκδοση με 3 GB RAM.

Πολύ ωραίο και σιγουρα πολύ κάλο,άλλα αυτός ο περιορισμός στην μνήμη με σταματάει προσωπικά,έχει κολλήσει η Xiaomi να βγάζει χωρίς επέκταση άντε τα 32 πες ότι βολεύεσαι κάπως άλλα 16 χωρίς επέκταση με αυτήν την συσκευή με τόσες δυνατότατες τραγικό άπλα

Η rom της Xiaomi από ότι έχω διαβάσει είναι πάρα πολύ καλή και χωρίς προβλήματα από τις καλύτερες γενικά,έχω την εντύπωση ότι είναι ποιο (φορτωμένη) σε σχέση με τα nexus άλλα δουλεύει άψογα όλα αυτά με κάθε επιφυλάξει δεν την έχω δουλέψει πότε
