Αναβάθμιση σε Αγγλικά του Γερμανικού MDA Compact!

Οι οδηγίες που δημοσίευσα στο http://www.xda-developers.com και στο http://www.compactjam.com για την αναβάθμιση σε αγγλικό OS του MDA Compact με γερμανικό λειτουργικό.

Είναι στα αγγλικά για την ώρα αλλά μόλις βρω χρόνο θα το μεταφράσω και στα ελληνικά αν το επιθυμείται:

 

UPGRADING TO ENGLISH

 

Tools needed:

 

1. romupdate.exe also know as mtty.exe (saved to your C:\ (root directory)

2. ntrw.exe (version 2.0) (saved to your C:\ (root directory)

3. SD Card Reader for your PC

4. SD Memory card at least 128MB

5. A HEX editor

 

Procedure:

 

Step 1 - Backing up your current German ROM

Make sure you backup your German ROM for 2 reasons. Firstly, because you will need the first 220bytes of your German ROM in order to be able to flash your MDA Compact with the WWE (English) ROM, and secondly, because you might need it either for flashing your phone in case of a malfunction so you can send it back under warranty with the original ROM, or for helping you to flash future upgrades.

Backing up your German ROM can be done by connecting your Compact to the PC through the data cable when you first uncheck the USB connection of active sync.

If your MDA connects with active sync because you didn't uncheck the USB connection in the active sync connection settings then you will not be able to backup your ROM to an SD memory card.

1. Before connecting your MDA you should bring it into the boot loader mode. This can be done by simultaneously pressing power + camera buttons and at the same time the soft reset button with the stylus.

2. After connecting your MDA to the PC through the USB in boot loader mode and having your SD card inserted into the MDA, you run romupdate.exe.

3. Then choose the USB connection in the connection settings of romupdate.exe window and click on ok. After that a terminal window will popup in that window.

4. Type d2s and press enter. Your MDA will start copying the ROM to the sd card. The screen of your MDA will be dark (no light), but you will see it counting up to 100%. When it reaches 100% it will say it is calculating the checksum. Give it some time till its done and it will say checksum ok.

5. After finishing the transfer of the German ROM from your MDA to the SD card, put your SD card into an SD card reader connected to your pc. Your pc might pop up a warning message that says your SD Card is not formatted would you like to format? Click No and open a Command prompt (DOS) window.

6. Change directory to your root directory (cd c:\) and run the command ntrw read German.nb1 x: where x is the drive letter of your sd card. That command will create the ROM Backup file of your German ROM into your C drive root directory by the name of German.nb1. Make sure you keep German.nb1 in a safe place and use a copy of that file for the rest of the procedure. Note that after finishing the copy from your SD card to German.nb1 file ntrw might give you an error, just don’t pay attention to it.

 

Step 2 - Fixing Ricardo’s English ROM file so that it can be flashed to your MDA Compact:

Some people complained that Ricardo’s ROM could not be flashed to their MDAs. That’s because MDA Compact's ROM seems to have a different header each time. What you have to do is:

1. Open your copy of the German ROM file with a HEX editor and copy the first 416 bytes (it starts with the word Magician),

2. Then open Ricardo’s English ROM file and overwrite the first 416 bytes of Ricardo’s ROM with the first 416bytes of your German ROM.

3. Then save Ricardo’s ROM with the replaced header by your German ROM and you have a flashable ROM file.

 

Step 3 - Transferring you English ROM File from your hard disk to the sd card:

1. Get the fixed Ricardo’s ROM file to your C drive root directory run the command ntrw write fixed.nb1 x: in the command prompt window where fixed.nb1 is the filename of Ricardo’s fixed ROM and x the SD card drive letter. Wait till it finishes and move to the final step.

 

Step 4 - Flashing the English ROM to your MDA:

1. Put your SD card into your MDA and get your MDA to boot loader mode again (power+camera+reset buttons). On your unlighted screen you will see it says serial wait and after some seconds it will say (Press Power to flash).

2. Do as it says and it will start flashing. When your MDA reaches 100% flashing, it will check the checksum. Don't worry about the message Checksum failed - Flashing failed and soft reset your MDA.

Well that's it! You have a sim-unlocked MDA compact with an English (WWE) OS.

The tools needed are also available at ftp://xda:xda@forum.xda-developers.com/Magician I uploaded them yesterday!

 

ITS VITAL THAT YOU COMPLETE ALL THE STEPS AND NOT JUST FLASH RICCARDO's ROM AS IT IS!!!!

ΒΗΜΑ 1ο

Ανοιγουμε την ROM και την ξεζιπαρουμε. Βρίσκουμε με την αναζητηση των Γουϊντοους που είναι τα αρχεία ψάχνοντας για το αρχειο "RUU.dll".

(ΜΟΛΙΣ ΤΕΛΕΙΩΣΕΙ ΤΟ ΞΕΖΙΠ ΘΑ ΑΝΟΙΞΕΙ ΕΝΑ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ! ΔΕΝ ΤΟ ΚΛΕΙΝΟΥΜΕ ΓΙΑ ΘΑ ΧΑΘΟΥΝ ΤΑ ΑΡΧΕΙΑ)

 

ΒΗΜΑ 2ο

Πηγαινουμε στην τοποθεσια στον σκληρο μασ δισκο και αντιγραφουμε το αρχειο "MaUpgradeUt.e*e" που ειναι μεσα στο δευτερο αρχειο μας

ΒΗΜΑ 3ο

Στο Ακτιβ Σινκ βαζουμε να μην βλεπει USB και συνδεουμε το κινητο με την USB σε βοοτλοαδ μοδε (πληκτρο καμερας + πληκτρο παουερ + ρεσετ μπατον)

 

BHMA 4o

Τρεχουμε το "MaUpgradeUt.e*e" και ακολουθαμε τις οδηγιες! Το φλασαρισμα κραταει περιπου 20 λεπτα και εχει 3 σταδια!
