Xiaomi Redmi 3 to have ‘Exynos 7422 killer’ Helio X12?

 

MediaTek’s Helio X10 is already quite a popular franchise, but MediaTek don’t seem to be in a mood to let any room for competition to crop up… especially from the Qualcomm camps.

 

Which is why the company is reportedly working on a slightly upgraded version of the MediaTek Helio X10, aka the Helio X12.

 

Besides Snapdragon SoCs, this upcoming MediaTek chip could very well give the likes of an Exynos 7422 a run for its money. Among the Qualcomm made SoCs, MediaTek is eyeing the Snapdragon 618 and the 620 specifically, reports suggest.

 

Moving on, the first phone to feature this SoC could be none other than the upcoming Redmi 3. While the Redmi Note (and the Mi Note) series from Xiaomi look after large-screen phone lovers, the Redmi (minus the Note suffix) series is usually made for users that want to use their phone in one hand.

 

MediaTek Helio X12 AnTuTu

 

According to the source, the MediaTek Helio X12 — with a model name MT6795X — manages a respectable 55,000 points on AnTuTu. This is besides the 1100 and 5400 points it scores on Geekbench’s single- and multi-core tests.

 

As MediaTek has done in the past (the MediaTek MT6575 and the MT6577 come to mind), the Helio X12 could be pin-to-pin compatible with the Helio X10. What does this mean? This means that phone makers won’t have to redesign their motherboards and can easily accommodate the newer SoC without hassle.

 

Now that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and the Redmi Note 3 are out of the way, the focus now shifts on the Redmi 3 (which should be out in Q1 next year) and of course, the long overdue Mi 5.

Over a month after it cleared China's 3C certification, the Mi 2015811 has been certified by Chinese certification and regulatory authority TENAA, revealing some of its key specs. The device is powered by an octa-core 1.5GHz processor, and sports a 5-inch (1280 × 720 pixel resolution) TFT display.

 

It has 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable internal memory. In terms of camera, the handset features an 8MP or 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter. Measuring 139.3 × 69.6 × 8.5mm and weighing in at 143g, the smartphone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

Ας δούμε τώρα και τι ψάρια πιάνει ο SD 616 και φυσικά ας ελπίσουμε ότι δεν θα ξεπερνάει τα 150 € .

Xiaomi confirms unprecedented 4100 mAh battery for the 5" Redmi 3

 

Xiaomi is not taking any chances with its most popular line of phones, it seems, as it just confirmed that it has indeed equipped the upcoming Redmi 3 with a 4000+ mAh battery, just as was tipped by analysts. The battery capacity inside will be 4100 mAh, to be precise, and Xiaomi divulged on its Weibo account that the company is using a new technology that allows for almost double the energy density in the same footprint.

 

This means that the Redmi 3, about to be unveiled January 12th, will still be relatively slim (8.5 mm are speculated), while hosting a battery that will easily get you through at least two days on a charge, given the phone's specs.

 

Those specs are nothing to sniff at, too, with a 5" HD display, Snapdragon 616 chipset, and a 13 MP/5 MP camera combo all rumored to be in the Redmi 3. Perhaps the coolest thing about the future Xiaomi blockbuster, however, besides the huge battery, is its design. While it continues the metal chassis trend set by its larger sibling the Redmi Note 3, and started by juggernauts like Samsung last year, it adds a little aesthetic twist that we hope will look as good in real life, as it does in the teaser poster supplied here.

 

The Redmi 3 will apparently sport a plaid pattern on the back, which adds that extra styling that we are usually clamoring for in our handsets. Besides looking the part, the etched pattern will potentially aid the grip, too, as metal phones often feel rather slippery in the hand if their finish is not up to snuff. Εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρουσα πρόταση. Λόγω παρουσίας του redmi note 2 θεωρώ πως θα κυμανθεί χαμηλά η τιμή του. Βέβαια με τέτοια χαρακτηριστικά πόσο χαμηλά μπορεί να πάει;

Αν κρατηθεί στα χαμηλά επίπεδα των 120-130 δολαρίων θα κάνει πάταγο.

Ανακοινώθηκε με πολύ καλά χαρακτηριστικά για την τιμή του. Φήμες λένε ότι η μπαταρία του θα τελειώνει μετά την δευτέρα παρουσία...

Για 5αρι ειναι πολύ συμαζεμένο... Μιλάμε για 1 και 2 χιλιοστά μεγαλύτερο από ότι τα 4.7" σε ύψος, και τα ίδια σε πλάτος... Ενώ με το Red Mi 2 που πρότεινε συμφορουμίτης έχει 5.3 χλστ διαφορά στο ύψος, 2.2 στο πλάτος... δεν είναι μεγάλες οι διαφορές.

ε άσε τους πωλητές να βγάλουν τίποτα :)

αλλά τι άλλο έχει χαμηλότερο (εκτός από σκορ) εκτός από cpu ; (που θα έχεις υποστήριξη σε custom rom)

όλα τα άλλα παρόμοια δεν είναι ; μικρότερη οθόνη/ανάλυση αλλά και μεγαλύτερη μπαταρία
