Xiaomi Mi4c review: Possibly the best Snapdragon 808 smartphone out there When you hear a chipset like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808, you will obviously believe that a smartphone bearing an expensive price tag can only feature such a chip. However, Xiaomi Mi4c is a great example of how consumers who do not want to spend too much money on a powerful handset can also become a proud owner of a device running a Snapdragon 808, along with other impressive features. Today, we got our hands on Xiaomi’s latest product. Can it surprise us with its killer hardware and affordable price tag? Looks like we will find out soon enough. Xiaomi Mi4c: Design and appearance Xiaomi Mi4c might not be the most attractive smartphone as far as looks go, but it is appealing in several other ways. First of all, the gadget comes in many colors, which will force the user to overlook the fact that Xiaomi has used as plastic chassis to cover its second fastest smartphone right now. Most Android handsets have their camera lenses situated right in the center but Xiaomi Mi4c has it placed right at the corner with a tiny LED flash placed next to it in order to improve the quality of the snapped images. Since there is nothing else to speak about regarding the build quality of the smartphone, let us jump right into the button placement section. Xiaomi Mi4c: Button placement While this might be the least important section to ponder upon, it serves for customers as a basis to make their purchase. The rear side of the smartphone is not removable, since Xiaomi does have a really annoying habit of doing that with its high-end smartphone lineup. Also, there is no microSD storage card slot and the version we got our hands on was the 32GB one (the one that features 3GB of RAM). A good idea for you guys would be to invest in a high-capacity microUSB flash drive (Xiaomi Mi4c comes with a USB-C Type to microUSB converter so you can easily insert it in) so that you can view content on it. It might not be as flexible as actually having a card slot, but there is no better alternative that we can provide you with at this current time. There is a small opening in the smartphone which after inserting a pin in it (the one that you received inside the packaging), a SIM card holder will pop up, one that will easily accommodate two cards. At least having a Xiaomi Mi4c does not force the user to make an extra effort to go out and reduce the size of the SIMs. The 3.5mm jack and USB-C Type port are kept separate from one another, while both power and volume buttons are present on the right side of the handset. Having a USB-C Type port has many advantages, with the most important one being high transfer rates when you want to move data from one device to the device via a USB port. OnePlus 2 also features the same port but one drawback of it was even though it had a Snapdragon 810 present, the smartphone did not support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0. Lucky for you guys, you will not have to encounter the same limitation here because the Chinese smartphone company has also bundled a Quick Charge 2.0 charger with its Xiaomi Mi4c. Now, you get to enjoy high transfer speeds as well as have your phone charged to 100 percent in a short amount of time too. Xiaomi Mi4c: Display and resolution Xiaomi Mi4c has a screen size of 5.0 inches and a resolution of 1080p. When we checked the details of the display type on the smartphone’s packaging, it stated that it was an IPS LCD, which would explain why everything appeared so much brighter on it. As far the display quality goes, it looks absolutely brilliant and we are so happy that the company did not go the extra mile by incorporating a 2560 x 1440 resolution to it like it did with its Mi Note Pro. This would have resulted in several battery life loss due to a higher amount of pixels. One primary advantage of IPS LCD type displays are that they have been catered for viewing purposes. The display might appear bright but it is also very comforting to the eyes when you decide to view something on it in a darker environment. In addition to a 1080p display, we were thrilled to see that the device is running Android Lollipop 5.1.1, and if we are lucky enough, maybe Xiaomi Mi4c will get updated to Android Marshmallow sometime in the near future. We were not too happy with the stock interface of the smartphone so we decided to switch to the ultimate combination for experiencing both performance and executing customizations; Nova Launcher + MIUI 7.0 (please be aware that we changed the wallpaper too). This made the interface smoother than butter, and best of all, it look really great as well. The app icons are not as flat as we have witnessed on other interfaces, but they are still good enough to reduce resource consumption by a very long margin. Screenshot_2015-09-26-16-07-00 Xiaomi Mi4c: Camera performance The only disappointing feature about the rear camera sensor of Xiaomi Mi4c was that it has a small amount of megapixels. For a Snapdragon 808 powered smartphone, we were expecting to see at least a 16MP camera. Regardless, having a 13MP camera (and is a product of SONY Exmor IMX258) is still good enough. Coming to the image results of the primary camera sensor, unfortunately, due to the time constraints that we had while compiling this review, we did not find time to put up our samples. However, we will be updating this review with our own samples in the future just to see if the camera samples snapped by us match the same quality of the images presented below. Xiaomi Mi4c: Performance Now let us come to the core segment as to why consumers want to purchase a smartphone in the first place? Raw performance. Once again, due to time limitations, we were only able to give Xiaomi Mi4c an AnTuTu run, which is sufficient for the most part, but we always like to run an array of different tests to see how well the smartphone will perform in each and every one of them. Xiaomi Mi4c AnTuTu http://www.xiaomitoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Xiaomi-Mi4c-AnTuTu.png Keep in mind that this is the 3GB version, so you guys could get a lower score than we have because you opted to run a 2GB model. Regardless, the performance of the smartphone is impeccable, especially if you are able to purchase one for less than $250. Xiaomi Mi4c: Battery life measurement Let us come to second most important aspect of a smartphone after performance; battery life. There are very few handsets that possess large battery capacities, and fortunately for you guys, Xiaomi Mi4c happens to be one of them. The handset features a non-removable 3,080mAh battery and we decided to take it for a test run to see how it fares in our battery test. Keep in mind that we tested out the battery with the screen brightness of the smartphone set to 100 percent in order to give you a worst case scenario on what you can expect when you are running the smartphone with a much lower brightness setting. The 3,080mAh battery proves its worth by delivering more than 13 hours of battery life while connected to a Wi-Fi network (this is during casual browsing sessions where we attended to the smartphone a few times before leaving it idly in its place). Even while connected to the LTE network, Xiaomi Mi4c is able to give out 9 hours of battery life (again through causal use). There are some devices that have performed absolutely horribly in this particular section, but we could not be happier that Xiaomi Mi4c performed well in this part of our review as well. Hardware specifications Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor: Quad-core Cortex-A57 at 1.82GHz and quad-core Cortex-A53 at 1.44GHz RAM: 3GB Memory: 32GB (no microSD storage card slot) Battery: 3,080mAh Display size: 5.0 inch IPS panel Screen resolution: 1920 x 1080 Charging port type: USB-C Type Final verdict After looking at each and every aspect of Xiaomi Mi4c, we have summarized the following scores below: Build Quality: 8 out of 10 Appearance: 9 out of 10 Button placement: 9 out of 10 Interface experience: 10 out of 10 Display quality: 10 out of 10 Price/performance ratio: 10 out of 10 Camera performance: 10 out of 10 Battery performance: 8 out of 10 Even though we had a little hiccup of not being able to see a microSD card slot, Xiaomi Mi4c is one of the most impressive Snapdragon 808 smartphones that we have ever come across. For less than $250, you too can be proud owner of a device that performs just as equal as the likes of LG’s G4 and costs much less in the process. Not only are you running Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 7.0 interface, but Xiaomi Mi4c is also running Android 5.1.1 as soon as you take it out the packaging. In short, the smartphone has an immediate ticket of getting updated to Android Marshmallow and we cannot wait to see what surprises await us when the new update has been successfully installed on this mobile powerhouse. http://www.xiaomitoday.com/xiaomi-mi4c-review-possibly-the-best-snapdragon-808-smartphone-out-there/

Έλα ντε τι να σου πω, να υποθέτω ότι θα είναι ίδιων επιδόσεων; ====================================== Xiaomi Mi4C Drop Test: Will It Survive A Fall? [VIDEO] A couple of days back, Xiaomi announced its Xiaomi Mi4C mid-range flagship for a competitive price tag of 1299 Yuan ($203). The phone comes with top-notch specifications, especially for a device in its segment. There’s the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset under the hood along with 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB storage options. The display up front is of 5-inches with FHD 1080p resolution. The rear camera is a 13MP Sony IMX 258 sensor with improved algorithm for better low light images (brighter and less noise). Up front, there’s a 5MP shooter with wide angle lens for the perfect group selfie. The phone comes with 3080mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 and a USB Type-C port. There’s even an IR port up on top. Overall a great device in terms of specifications for just $203. But is it durable enough? Well, folks from China just did a drop test of the new Mi4C and in general, the phone did quite well. In the waist high drop test, from around 1m high, the Mi4C survived the fall. No visible scratches or damages. Even in the second drop test from chest height, (around 1.5m), the phone survived as well. This shows that the display is quite strong and can definitely withstand a few falls. However, in the third drop test, which was from over the head height, the Xiaomi Mi4C didn’t survive. That’s like the worst case scenario and its unlikely that you would drop your phone from such a height. So, in most cases, the Mi4C’s 5-inch display should survive a fall. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Can-the-Xiaomi-Mi-4cs-5-inch-screen-survive-a-drop-test_id74030 VIDEO ► http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTM0Mzg4ODEzNg==.html

Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: The ultimate buyers guide Xiaomi is getting ready to announce yet another handset for this year, and it is going to be called Mi4c. However, before you get excited to witness the unveiling of the smartphone, you should know that the company is going to release limited versions of this product. The reason for this is very simple; it is because Xiaomi obviously does not want the sales performance of its Redmi Note 2 to take a nose dive, and so far, the latter is killing it in the market thanks to its very attractive price and performance ratio. So which smartphone is going to be the better handset to purchase out of both them? Let us take a look shall we. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Screen sizes and resolution Both devices might have the same resolutions, but most consumers would be eager to get their hands on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 because it is not only affordable, but has a screen size of 5.5 inches, compared to the expected 5.2 inch screen of Xiaomi Mi4c. Since there is very little difference over here to compare both smartphones comprehensively, let us move on to the next specifications of our comparison. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Amount of RAM The total amount of RAM present in a smartphone will decide how much multitasking can be executed or how many applications can be run during a small session. One model of Xiaomi Mi4c is going to feature 2GB of RAM (which will also have 16GB of internal storage), while the 3GB RAM model will have 32GB of storage. Naturally, if future users want to get the most out of their Android smartphone, then they will obviously have to choose the device that features the most amount of RAM. On this occasion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is only available in the 2GB RAM model, which only means that users will be limited to extra headroom, and that all depends on what you plan to do. However, having sufficient RAM is not the only component that determines how much performance you can get out of your smartphone. We have not even come to the core component present in both devices, which happens to be the chipset. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Chipset Chipset is perhaps the most important component present in a smartphone. Both device feature the following the chipsets, and we have also managed to list which processor is running inside both of them. Xiaomi Mi4c: Snapdragon 808 chipset which will be running two Cortex-A57 cores running at 1.82GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.44GHz. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Helio X10 chipset which will be running eight Cortex-A53 cores at 2.0GHz (the higher performing model runs at a frequency of 2.2GHz but is also slightly more expensive). According to the AnTuTu benchmarking scores, given below are the following scores that each device can obtain: Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: 46,457 points (This is for the 2.0GHz model; the 2.2GHz model will definitely score much higher than this). Estimated score of Xiaomi Mi4c: Above 47,000 points for the 3GB model and less than 47,000 for the 2GB model. If it comes to pure performance terms, then we see Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 as being the much better smartphone to purchase for you guys since it is not only affordable, but Helio X10 present inside it is near-equal to Snapdragon 808 in the benchmarking tests. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Battery capacities Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 3,060mAh battery, which will provide just a little less than 12 hours of talk time. There is very little difference between the battery capacity of Xiaomi Mi4c because according to the leaked specifications, the device is going to sport a 3,080mAh battery. However, since Mi4c is running two Cortex-A57 cores, which consume much more power as compared to Cortex-A53 cores, it is highly possible that the upcoming smartphone will not be able to provide sufficient battery life to consumers as compared to Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Regardless, we are going to have to wait and see how well the upcoming device does in the battery tests before we can deliver our final conclusion. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Charging port type Unlike Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi4c will feature a Type-C USB port, which can deliver higher transfer rates when you want to shift data from one machine to the other. In contrast, Redmi Note 2 will not be able to reach the transfer speeds of its upcoming rival because it has a microUSB port. Consumers who are extremely picky about the charging port of the smartphone will have to wait for some time as it will take a while for Xiaomi Mi4c to enter the market. Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Price Perhaps the most important thing to a consumer is a smartphone’s price tag. Right now, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 delivers an unparalleled price/performance ratio because it only costs $125 (for the 2.0GHz) model, while Xiaomi Mi4c is expected to carry a price that will range between $204 for the 2GB RAM model, and $236 for the 3GB RAM model. If you were to ask which device we would settle for to be completely satisfied, our answer would easily be Redmi Note 2. However, not all consumers will share our decision. Final verdict In our opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 happens to be the far better choice compared to the upcoming Mi4c because it not only has an unbeatable price of $125, but it is equal to the performance of the upcoming device thanks to its Helio X10 chipset. Sure, it might not have 3GB of RAM, but in majority of cases, 2GB RAM is more than enough to get your fair share of multitasking, and playing graphically intensive gaming applications. With the new operating system update running on both smartphones (Android Lollipop 5.0), we expect even better memory management to be displayed by both handsets, and with Redmi Note 2, you will easily be able to save a ton of money in the purchasing process too. http://www.xiaomitoday.com/xiaomi-mi4c-vs-xiaomi-redmi-note-2-the-ultimate-buyers-guide/

Xiaomi Mi 4c leaks on AnTuTu and TENAA; device powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/wp-content/phoneimages/xiaomi.mi4-c.jpg While Xiaomi reportedly is waiting for the Snapdragon 820 SoC to arrive to start churning out the Xiaomi Mi 5, the company might be looking to offer another variant of its Xiaomi Mi 4 flagship phone. A handset with the Xiaomi Mi 4c name went through the AnTuTu benchmark test, and was also certified by TENAA. Both revealed that the device will feature a 5-inch, 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. That works out to a pixel density of 441ppi. The Xiaomi Mi 4c will be the first handset produced by Xiaomi to be powered by the Snapdragon 808 chipset. The SoC will include a hexa-core 1.4GHz CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside, along with 16GB of internal, non-expandable storage. A 13MP camera graces the back of the unit, while a 5MP camera is on the front of the phone handling selfies and video chats. Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed, with the new MIUI 7 UI running on top. The Xiaomi Mi 4c offers support for 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro USB connectivity. We would expect to see such a device priced at a bargain rate to compete with other "value" priced models. If you're interested in how the specs of this handset differ from the Xiaomi Mi 4, the latter is powered by the Snapdragon 801, which comes with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU. The Mi 4 also offers 3GB of RAM, 64GB of native storage, and an 8MP front-facing camera. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Xiaomi-Mi-4c-leaks-on-AnTuTu-and-TENAA-device-powered-by-hexa-core-Snapdragon-808-chipset_id72925#2-...and-is-certified-in-China-by-TENAA#VPRp2rPdZeKcAg8b.99 Unofficial preliminary specifications: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_4c-7512.php
