LG KC780 makes a go at the thinnest 8-megapixel cameraphone title

 

The LG KC780 8 megapixel cameraphone is now officially confirmed, as we managed to snatch a press photo of the upcoming slider. We don't have the specs of the KC780, but we know that it's being touted by LG as the slimmest 8 megapixel phone to-date. That means it has to be slimmer than 13.8mm to qualify and beat the Samsung M8800 Pixon.

 

The LG KC780 made its first appearance last week in a blurry, under-the-shelf photo, but this time we have a nice pic for you to enjoy. We still don't know more details about the handset than we already had last time, but you know, a picture is worth a thousand words.

 

And by the way, we also received word that LG will be announcing a new slim full touch handset tomorrow that promises to break the barrier of affordability. But more on when the time comes.

The 8 megapixel slider LG KC780 should be able to offer quad-band GSM support and even limited touchscreen functionality - only in multimedia applications much like the LG KF750 Secret. We can also expect 30fps video recording - but that of course is a no-brainer for LG cameraphones.

In its press release about the Renoir launch, LG mentioned officially the KC780 as a ‘super slim’ 13.7mm cameraphone. Due to this, we expected to see LG announcing it as the world’s thinnest 8MP phone (after Renoir and Pixon claimed to own that title) but obviously something went wrong. Today, LG announced the slider and said that it measures as 13.9mm, just as the Renoir.

 

Named after the French artist, the KC910 Renoir is touted not only for its camera, but also as an all-in-one multimedia phone. KC780 is more modest and LG stresses mainly on its picture and video capturing abilities. The company claims that most of the time users take pictures of other people, and that’s why the KC780 is developed “with a number of face-enhancing features”. These include the well known face and smile detection, as well as a “Beauty Mode”, for image editing in order to remove imperfections from faces. The new slider seems to pack better video capturing options than its touch mate, capable of recording DVD-resolution (720x480) videos, so that it offers good quality on big displays.

 

LG KC780 is tri-band GSM (no 3G) with European-friendly frequencies, featuring 2.4” QVGA 262k color display, stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot and DivX6. Unfortunately XviD is not listed but we hope it will be supported as well. The phone is expected to go on sale in November 2008.

Άσχημο είναι,η LG μας είχε συνηθήσει σε ποιό ωραία τηλέφωνα.

Κ από specs,εκτός από αυτά της κάμερας,δεν νομίζω οτί λέει κ πολλά...

Eγώ το κόβω κάπου στα 300.. το πολύ 350.Και μάλιστα σε αυτά τα λεφτά θα έχει να αντιμετωπίσει μοντέλα περισσότερο εξοπλισμένα αν εξαιρέσουμε την 8αρα κάμερα βέβαια.

Ναι αλλά η κάμερα είναι όλη η υπόθεση. Σε φωτο και βίντεο, ποιό θα το συναγωνίζεται στην κατηγορία αυτή; Όταν πρωτοβγεί πιστεύω θα το τσιμπήσουν λίγο και μετά ίσως πέσει καμια 50αριά ευρώ. Θα δούμε.

Mακαρι να εχει και καλο μηχανισμο slide χωρις περιεργα.

λοιπον εχει το κινητάκι αυτό η μάνα μου και συμβαίνει το εξής περίεργο.. οταν εχει τα handsfree πάνω ενεργοποιείται το προφιλ handsfree κανονικά αλλα η ενταση του ήχου κλήσης είναι πολύ μειωμένη.. στο 70% περιπου.. εννοείται πως την ενταση την εχω στο τέρμα στις ρυθμίσεις του προφιλ..

κοίταξα και στο σερβις μενου μηπως βρω εκει καποια ρύθμιση αλλα τζίφος..

 

ξερει κανείς αν αυτό γίνεται στανταρ στα κινητα της LG? να μην παιδέυομαι άδικα..
