No, but you can get a Gmail account if you're invited by someone who already has one. Or, you can sign up for an account using your mobile phone.

 

When signing up for Gmail, you will be given the option to add Gmail to your current Google Account, or create a separate account. If you'd like to add Gmail to your current account, be sure to select this option: "If you already have a Google Account, you can sign in here." In this case, your username will change from your previous email address to your chosen gmail username.
